British Sugarcraft Guild - South East Area

Who Are We?

In March 1981 a group of Sugarcraft Tutors from around the country came together in Woolwich and laid the foundations to create a club known as The British Sugarcraft Guild. It was open to anyone from complete beginner or experts, it's aims are:-
To promote and stimulate interest in Sugarcraft as an art form
To share knowledge
To develop talent
To improve standards
The Guild has recently reorganised and is now set up into five areas. Our area is known as South East Area and currently has 15 branches and 2 children's groups, known as Cygnets. Go to Branches to find out more about the area.

South East Area is a very active region and our branches hold demonstrations, workshops and swap ideas. Some branches sell sugarcraft products at the meetings. We love seeing new skills, old techniques revamped and watching skills demonstrated. The Area also holds an exhibition every two years at The South of England Showground, Ardingly, with Competitions, Demonstrators, Displays, Have A Go's, Preloved and Traders. Our next exhibition is on Saturday 9th May 2026 at Ardingly, West Sussex. Tickets are on sale NOW and the competition schedule is live. For hands on mini workshop tickets see the ticket sales form for details.
As a member of the BSG you will receive a quarterly newsletter in magazine format, containing news on exhibitions, articles, photographs, advice and much more, discounts on skills schools, access to our Facebook Sugarcraft Lounge with free live monthly demonstrations. If you cannot get to a meeting you can become an individual member via www.bsguk.org/shop Some of our branches offer visitors their first meeting free, so its a good time to go along.
